Datuk Michelle Yeoh attends PIFF

Malaysia's very own Datuk Michelle Yeoh is at the 12th Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF). During a press conference recently, the 45-year-old talked about the film industry in Asia.

Yeah, don't mess with me 'cos I can kick
your @$$ real good.

"It's unbelievable what's happening in Busan," Yeoh said. "This feels like the Cannes Film Festival of Asia." The actress also added that PIFF is promoting an international vision by providing a platform for Asian filmmakers and actors to meet and hopefully collaborate on projects in the future.

"It stems from festivals like this. (It's important) that we all work together: As united, we stand, but divided we fall, so let us be one big happy family," she said.

Yeoh may be an international star but she is still looking forward to collaborations with Asian filmmakers, including the Hallyu stars of Korea (of course). "These are my roots, this is where I'm from. We cannot wait for Hollywood to come calling."

Yeoh also appeared at the Co-Production PRO Conference on Oct 9 (pic above).

Here's a little trivia for ya. Datuk Michelle Yeoh's Hangeul-ised name is Yang Ja Kyung (양자경). Her Chinese name is actually Yeoh Choo Kheng.

Well, to be precise it is not Hangeul'ised name because it was transliterated from Chinese into Hanja and read out in Han-O pronunciation of the Hanja. :)
