Kim Bum turns into a Tough Guy in Dream

Please, that's enough training for one day...

In the drama Boys Before Flowers, you only see Lee Min-ho and Kim Joon shirtless. Most of the time, Kim Bum is fully clothed, wearing a debonair suit in the drama. But this time around, in his new drama, DREAM, Kim Bum turns into a tough guy. You will definitely see a more toned and athletic looking Kim Bum and shirtless scenes.

These pics are from a scene in the drama Dream. It shows Kim Bum's character (who's a mixed martial arts fighter) training at the beach. The scene was filmed on 30th July at Incheon beach. Kim Bum had to run 100m dragging a tyre behind him. After about 20 takes, an exhausted Kim Bum said "Even walking is difficult now" (이젠 걷는 것도 힘들다).

Kim Bum's first movie lead in Emergency

All eyes are on young Kim Bum in his first lead role in a movie

Current young hot talent Kim Bum (20) is filming his new movie Emergency (비상) in Japan.

Talk about a busy schedule! Kim Bum has been having the good fortune of drama and movie roles (good ones!) landing at this doorstep lately. The good streak started with Kim Bum playing a young version of Song Seung Hun in the bid budget drama East of Eden. He then landed the cushy role in Boys Over Flowers which opened up a pandora box of CFs and product endorsement contracts.

Oh yes, Kim Bum is in Japan now where he has tons of fans and the numbers are rapidly growing (ever since they started broadcasting Boys Before Flowers on Mnet Japan).

Kim Bum and Kim Byul play lead roles in Emergency -- a movie about young love, pain, suffering and the process of growing up. There has been much hype over this movie since this is Kim Bum's next project right after his Boys Before Flowers role. A kiss scene between Kim Bum and Kim Byul in the movie received much attention.

This is Kim Bum's first lead role in a move. He was previously in I Like It Hot (plays pizza delivery boy and friend to Wonder Girl's Sohee) and stared opposite Nam Gyuri in scary movie Death Bell (Gosa).

Pictures of Kim Bum wandering around aimlessly in the streets of Japan, the over hyped kiss scene and his gloriously tousled hair after the jump!

Here are the stills from movie Emergency which has been released thus far.

Kim Bum drops movie 71

Some like it cold,
some like it hot,
some say i should post more BBF entries,
some say i should not!

Now that i've gotten that out of my system, here's an update on Kim Bum. ;-)

Kim Bum has decided to drop his movie '71'. Earlier this year, Kim Bum along with Big Bang's Seung-ri and Yoo Seung Ho was reported to have been cast in the war movie.

'71' relates the story of seventy-one South Korean trainee soldiers who valiantly fought the war on the morning of 10 August, 1950 against the North Korean army. It was planned that Kim Bum would play their commander Park Ha Seob.

Kim Bum decided to drop the movie because of his tight shooting schedule. He will also be in the SBS drama Dream and another movie Emergency thus has decided to drop '71' due to a clash in his shooting schedule. The current prime time saguek drama Ja Myung-go will see an early exit due to low ratings. This pushes up the shooting schedule of Dream, which will begin this June.

Kim Bum is now learning two kinds of martial arts in preparation for his role in the drama Dream. He plays a struggling mixed martial arts athlete, who meets a hot-shot sports agent (Joo Jin-moo) in the drama.

Casting for new SBS drama Dream

Joo Jin-moo to play a Jerry Maguire role soon?

Actor and singer Joo Jin-moo (200 Pounds Beauty, Fashion 70's, Queen of the Game) has been casted in a Korean-Japanese joint venture drama Dream (드림) . The drama will be produced by Jeong Hyeong-su (Jumong) of CJ Entertainment. Two other casts have also been confirmed - Kim Bum (Boys Before Flowers, East of Eden) and Sohn Dam-bi.

The drama Dream takes place in the sports business world, displaying fierce competition and the fight to succeed. The is the first time a Korean drama has dealt with this topic and to illustrate how exciting this might be, you'd only have to think about the movie Jerry Maguire. Joo Jin-moo will play an agent who mentors a mixed martial arts fighter (played Kim Bum), turning him from a bad seed into a top fighter. Sohn Dam-bi will play the martial arts gym owner's lovely daughter.

It has been also reported that the drama might surprise you by having real life athletes in cameo roles.

A new addition to the casting for Dream is Julien Kang. You might have seen the Canadian born actor in Chit Chat of Beautiful men (2007). Julien is of Korean - French parentage and is experienced in mixed martial arts. He will probably play one of the fighters on the drama.

Also, Sohn Dam-bi's We've Got Married partner Marco is said to be in the cast too.

Sohn Dam-bi fans are busy speculation who will play her love interest. Will it be Kim Bum? Julien Kang or Joo Jin-moo?

Dream will start airing on SBS in September.

Kim Joon is the glue that sticks F4 together

Kim Joon brought F4 together for the F4 Special Edition project

Very similar to his role in Boys Before Flowers, Kim Joon is the one who binds the F4 together. In the drama, Joon plays Song Woo-bin who's usually uninvolved romantically but provides his friends support and a listening ear to their problems. In real life, Kim Joon also acts like a "big brother" (and in actual fact he is the oldest among the four) and shows support to his F3 friend's projects.

Kim Joon and T-MAX showed up to support Lee Min Ho in his recent Cass Beer club event and even stood on stage with Min-ho to promote a healthy responsible drinking habit. Joon also congratulated Kim Bum on his new projects and attended a fan meeting with the youngest of the F4 members.

Kim Joon supporting his friends:
Left: At Lee Min-ho's Club 2X 2XTREME 20 event (17 May)
for Cass Beer - to promote responsible drinking habits.
Right: At a fan meeting with Kim Bum back in March '09

Even with their busy schedules, F4 reunited (not so sure about Kim Hyun-joong though) to work on the Special Edition music drama. To work on this post-drama project, it was reported that Kim Joon had a hand in rounding the boys up. He personally contacted them. With that, Joon played an important role in making the special edition project a success. Since it's launch on Mnet, the music videos have been viewed by a whopping 11 million viewers.

Some might say he isn't as popular as the other three guys and thus has more free time but perhaps he's just a regular nice guy and values his friends.

Lee Min Ho joins Haptic Mission Season 2

Hmm...is Min-ho recruited as a teacher or an advertising exec?

Anycall Haptic Mission is an advertising campaign that brings together Son Dambi and Boys Before Flowers actors Kim Bum, Kim Hyun-joong and Kim Joon. Haptic Mission adopts the concept of reality tv where the celebrities become employees of Anycall Corporation.

In season 2, Lee Min-ho will be joining the mission while Kim Bum leaves to be with LG. The start of season two will be on May 27. It has been said that season 1 was a huge success - although i got a bit bored watching the videos. I bet in season 2 things will start to really get exciting with the arrival of Lee Min-ho as an employee at Anycall Corp. (but of couse i'm saying this because i'm biased). And the person whom i think could rival Min-ho as best employee with his panache and confidence has left the ad campaign. You all know who i'm talking about. ;-)

Min-ho joins Anycall Corp...and suddenly Orchid is interested in the Haptic Mission

In the drama Boys Before Flowers, Lee Min-ho's character (and also the rest of the main cast actually) uses the Anycall mobile phone model SCH-W750. Since the launch of the product, 250, 000 units of the mobile phone has been sold.

Samsung is very pleased with this and is confident that the charming Min-ho will be a good representative to express their stylish brand. Thus, Samsung Electronics is looking forward to Min-ho's participation in the series of ads that will make up Haptic Mission season 2.

Marketing gimmic? Easy, as long as I use this phone, the people will buy.

Check out the season 2 teaser video...

If you are like me and didn't pay much attention to this ad campain in season 1, here's what you missed... * yawns *

Will this be our new office? Anycall Corp?

In season one, Kim Bum, Kim Hyun-joong, Kim Joon and Son Dambi receive documents telling them that they have been selected to become employees in the Advertising department at Anycall Corp. Their stint at the company would last for eight weeks.

They each vow to work hard and determine in their hearts to be the best employee. To select the best employee, they each have to go through an interview. There are no English subtitles available for the interviews, but there's one Westerner in the panel and he asks the questions in English. I find this the most amusing and it looks like Kim Hyun-joong's command of the English language is the worse among them all. He even interpreted the question wrongly. Hyun-joong is also fluent in Japanese but he was really nervous when he found out that they will be asked questions in English.
