Girls' Generation
Run Devil Run [Repackaged]
[SM Entertainment]
**** (out of 5 stars)
Girls’ Generation or Sonyeoshidae (SNSD) are the reigning pop princesses of the Korean music scene. And thanks to their smash hits Oh! and Gee, the nine members of SNSD have been successfully marketed as a syrupy sweet, yet sexy, girl-next-door types. Thus it comes as a pleasant surprise when one discovers that the girls are also capable of more mature sounds.
Their re-released second album, repackaged now as Run Devil Run, contains tracks from the original album, however, it's the added bonus songs that showcase SNSD's wider range. Wade through the many crunchy, but still catchy, Kpop tracks and you’ll find lovely ballads such as Star Star Star and Forever.
In addition to that, there is the album’s title track, which has a mean beat that is at once sexy and addictive. But even though the songs on this album are all iPod-friendly and could be listened to endlessly, I'd advise moderation so as to avoid an overdose of sweetness. The review was originally published in Galaxie (August 17 - 31, 2010)

SNSD for Sexy Industry Nite
Eh, what’s that? Beats me, but it’s happening in Malaysia and apparently, SNSD are the poster girls for the event. I think SM Entertainment will not be happy to see this.
Taken from their Tell Me Your Wish (Genie) promotional posters, Taeyeon, Yoona and Jessica are seen plugging “a night specially dedicated to all the sexy service industry crews in the city.”
Whoo ho— maybe not.
K-popped! reader Minji could not help but snap a pic of the bunting. It was taken at Giza Sunway Damansara in Kota Damansara.
Thanks Minji!

Pictures of SNSD & Choi Siwon on the Oh! My Lady set
Since they are under the same talent agency SM Entertainment, some SNSD members made a cameo appearance for SuJu Choi Siwon’s drama Oh! My Lady.
The girls who are lending their starpower to the drama series are Hyo-yeon, Jessica and Sooyoung.
They look chummy :-). These pics were taken on Apr 7 when the girls visited the set for the shoot.

SNSD’s Black Soshi concept revealed
It looks like Girls' Generation (Sonyeoshidae or SNSD for short) are growing up.
The 9-member girl group will release a repackaged 2nd album with a darker, more mature image called Black Soshi.
Pictures of selected members have been released into the Kpop world to set it abuzz about the new concept / repackaged album’s release.
The SNSD girls made a comeback recently with a bubble gum hit Oh!. In the video, they portrayed themselves as bubbly cheerleaders. Now, they are set to shed the giggly teen chick image and exchange it for…Black Soshi.
A picture of Yuri was first released on March 11 followed by Taeyeon and Seohyun’s pictures on March 12.
Pictures of the other members will be unveiled as a lead up to the release of the SNSD repackaged 2nd album on March 16, at 10am (South Korea time, 9am Malaysia).
The public were actually given a peek at the Black Soshi concept when the Oh! MV was released. It is shown towards the end of the MV when the girls come face-to-face with their Black Soshi selves.
Check the MV below:
OK, confession time. I can’t tell the girls apart…except for Yoona and Hyo-yeon. The former because of her drama You’re My Destiny and the latter because she reminds me of Song Hye-kyo. Hyo-yeon is a really good dancer…and went to a great plastic surgeon, no?
The other girls are just a mass of legs, great hair and perfect skin. Did I label the pictures correctly? I’m guessing.

Sonyeoshidae goes Gee
Girls’ Generation a.k.a Sonyeoshidae (SNSD) is set release their first mini-album with the title song Gee.
This is a comeback of sorts for the 9-member girl group that has gone through a rather rocky 2008…and yes, we are talking about K-pop fans boycotting the group during the 2008 Dream Concert. (The girls received the silent treatment from other K-pop fans when they took to the stage. Brr...chilly in there, ain't it?)
What were the fans angry about again? It wasn’t stated at the Wikipedia site.
Set to put that sour episode behind them, the SNSD girls unleashed a teaser of their Gee MV on New Year’s Day. In it, the girls make like mannequins that come to life. (Watch it below.)
SNSD’s Gee will be released on Jan 5 while the mini album will go on sale on Jan 7.
Will the girls be getting your support, or are you still pissed off at them?

What are Korean girl groups up to?
The Wonder Girls strutted their stuff at the Hyundai Card Super Match 6 at Jamsil Indoor Stadium on Nov 20.
The exhibition tennis match saw Roger Federer going up against his one-time idol, Pete Sampras! Federer won the match against the now-retired Sampras.

Meanwhile, Girls' Generation (a.k.a. 소녀시대/So-nyeo-shi-dae) held an autograph session at the Lotte Cinema in Geondaejeom on the same day.
The event was in conjunction with the release of the nine-member band's self-titled album on Nov 1.
