Korean reporter interviews Lee Byung Hun when the G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra entourage went to Japan for the movie premiere and press junket.
The reporter got to visit Lee's hotel suite where she interviewed him. She asked him if he is worried about his looks and aging. Lee Byung Hun replied that he doesn't mind having some wrinkles. The reporter also talked to him briefly when he walked down the Red Carpet later that night at the movie premiere. The man taking photos (of LBH - just like a fan) with the digital camera while LBH was being interviewed by the reporter is Stephen Sommers (the movie director)!!
Don't forget to check out the last part where they interviewed Lee Byung Hun, Sienna Miller & Channing Tatum! LBH and Sienna like to tease each other - a lot. Loads of chemistry there. But i think it's a bit rude that the reporter spoke to LBH in Korean while Sienna & Channing couldn't understand.
Do I look like Storm Shadow? LBH poses in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre, Hollywood, CA.(6 August, 2009)
Although Lee Byung Hun is popular in Asia, what am i saying - Japanese women practically worships the ground he walks on. Yeah he's THAT popular! Fans in America have just been introduced to Lee Byung Hun for the first time in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. He plays Storm Shadow - a baddie, in the movie.
Lee Byung Hun fits into the Hollywood role comfortably
Here are some excerpts from Mania.com's interview with the actor who admits the world of Joe vs. Cobra is all new to him. "It didn't show in Korea. I had no idea about G.I. Joe when I first got the script," Lee said, admitting he was a little hesitant to take the part. "I had a lot of time to discuss the character Storm Shadow with [director] Stephen Sommers and [producer] Lorenzo di Bonaventura."
Lee also revealed that his first friend in Hollywood (that was before he got really chummy with the gorgeous BARONESS Sienna Miller) is Ray Park, the man who plays Snake Eyes in the movie.
"He was my first friend in Hollywood actually," Lee said of Park. "In the movie we are hating each other but in real life we're really good friends. We took a lot of time to practice the choreography and training before the production."
Will Lee be in the next G.I. Joe movies? He confirmed for us that he's signed to play Storm Shadow in additional films if the studio calls for it.
"This was my first try to be a comic book character, so that's why I hesitated a little bit to commit to this production," Lee said, adding that, while high-octane superheroes may be popular in America, this kind of movie is new to him. He's not thinking in terms of the next superhero (or villain) he'll play. "I've doing more realistic characters and projects, so I don't know."
He's already working on his next project in Asia (drama IRIS!), but would consider doing another American film if the right project comes along. We asked him if there's a particular director he's interested in working with.
"There are a lot of good actors and directors in the states I think, but I'd really like to work with director Cameron Crowe. I like his work."
Bonus pics of Sienna Miller (Baroness), Channing Tatum (Duke), Marlon Wayans (Ripcord), Rachel Nichols (Shana 'Scarlett' O'Hara) & Ray Park (Snake Eyes).
Lee Byung-hun…and the fact that sexy oppa, along with Sienna Miller, makes being a baddie so, so good.
C’mon, how can it NOT be good when a G.I. Joe, who is suited up in an expensive high-tech suit giving him superhuman strength STILL eats the dust of the very human bad guy as they run through Paris? Bwah ha ha ha ha….
The ONLY reason K-popped! rushed to the cinema -- weaving in and out of Friday evening rush hour traffic -- is because Lee portrays Storm Shadow in G.I. Joe: TRoC. And boy, the 39-year-old Hallyu star sure doesn’t disappoint!
He’s suave, he’s full of charisma and he’s molten lava hawt (and he almost made me go Rain, who?). Lee Byung-hun easily shifts from being a Hallyuwood star to a Hollywood actor and his trump card is his mastery of the English language.
It’s undeniable that Lee is oh-so comfortable with the language and there isn’t any cringing, trying-too-hard-moments when he flawlessly delivers his lines in the flick.
As the cool as cucumber ninja Storm Shadow, Lee is a smooth criminal – deliciously unfazed and oozing malice.
Storm Shadow (left) to Baroness: 'Yeah, I'm not taking any chances with the A(H1N1) flu virus around. I go out protected.'
As for the movie itself…well, let’s just say G.I. Joe: TRoC isn’t action movie gold. It has a very cartoon vibe to it. I can picture 10-year-olds gaping in awe and wonder at the out-of-this-world gadgets and machinery on display in the show.
It’s every little boy’s military fantasy come to life and there’s no big surprise here since the Joes are based on Hasbro’s action figures.
My advice: Don’t take this CGI-laden flick seriously. Especially so when you have an air fight with lines such as: “Bogey at 10 o’clock!”, which is instantly followed by “Oh no, I’m hit, I’m hit!”.
Electrifying: 'When you said I needed a buzz, I didn't know you meant getting fried by lightning!'
Nonetheless, G.I. Joe: TRoC entertains. And for fellow K-popped! friends, the bonus comes in watching one of Hallyuwood’s biggest stars fitting in and doing well in a Hollywood production.
이병헌 오빠, 화이팅!
The plot:
Black vs. White: Who says bad guys can't wear white?
Nanobots and high-tech gadgetry take centre stage as the Joes takes on an evil organisation that is led by a notorious arms dealer.
Watch it:
It has been showing in Malaysian cinemas since Aug 6.
Sweet! Gorgeous fashionista & Korean hunk at the G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra press con
It's time to celebrate! Yet another Korean star is in a Hollywood movie production, and the cast heads over to Seoul to promote the movie.
This time, Lee Byung Hun brings the G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra cast to Seoul for a press conference, and other promo activities. Director Stephen Sommers (The Mummy), producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura and actors Channing Tatum and Sienna Miller were there to meet the Korean press at Shilla Hotel. Sienna Miller, ever the fashion icon, looked gorgeous at the press conference. She wore a yellow and black patterned short dress and teamed it with black leggings and high heeled boots. Her hair was a shimmering gold which cascaded over her shoulders and her skin was glowing and flawless!
Where-ever Sienna goes, she steps out in style
Sienna Miller & Lee Byung Hun. Now, don't you think they would make a cute couple!
I'm so happy to see Byung-hun Lee listed as the fourth name in the actors credit list on IMDB. He's right up there on top. Korean hunk Lee Byung Hun plays Storm Shadow in the movie. I hear he wears a white leather suit complete with mask mostly throughout the movie. But who cares...i can't wait to see Byung Hun in action in the movie that a reporter who attended the Tokyo premiere said..."is like Transformers, explosive, noisy, but without the giant robots."
G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra will be in cinemas on 7 August 2009 in Malaysia.

Here's a look at the filming of action spy drama IRIS starring Lee Byung Hun, Kim Tae Hee and Kim So Yeon. They were filming in Hungary. Photos of Lee Byung Hun concentrating on his script and Kim Tae Hee doing action scenes. Frankly, i wouldn't have imagined Kim Tae Hee playing a role with lots of action and fight scenes. We'll just have to wait and see how she fares in IRIS.
Here's an update on hallyu star Lee Byung Hun. The thirty nine year old actor who is currently working on his drama IRIS was in Japan recently to promote his movie I Come With The Rain.
I Come With The Rainwas top 10 on the Japanese box office for two consecutive weeks! On the weekend it was released, the movie ranked fifth place.
Lee Byung Hun, Josh Hartnett and Takuya Kimura appeared on Japan's SMAPxSMAP program to promote their movie. The clip was released in Japan on June 6, 2009. It's a weird weird video.
I have no idea why that Japanese man is dressed up as a woman, and why Takuya Kimura's hair is done up in a bun. At least Lee Byung Hun and Josh Hartnett look normal. Btw...who else loves Lee Byung Hun's deep voice!?
Catch Lee Byung Hun on Hip Korea: Seoul Savvy which premieres at 7pm, Thursday 18 June on Discovery Channel (Astro channel 551)
Let Lee Byun Hun show you the hippest places to visit when in Seoul. He will take you to Apgujeong, Insadong and Samcheong-dong. But of course K-popped! already took you to Samcheong-dong!

Happy day: Yoon Seok-ho marries a hanbok designer 13 years his junior
Director-cum-producer Yoon Seok-ho (51) ties the knot with hanbok designer Han Hye-soo (38) on Jan 11. The lovebirds were introduced by friends a year ago. Today, they exchange their vows in a Catholic church in Nonhyun-dong, Seoul surrounded by friends and their loved ones.

Attending the wedding ceremony are Song Seung-hun and Son Hye-jin (Summer Scent) as well as Seo Do-young, Han Hyo-joo and Lee So-yeon (Spring Waltz).
Quick entry: Song Hye-kyo attends the wedding too!
Meanwhile, Song Hye-kyo (Autumn in My Heart) is seen speeding into the premises without appearing to the press. Choi Ji-woo is reportedly attending the event (but there are no pictures of her) while Lee Byung-hun is seen declining an interview with a reporter.
Excuse moi: Lee Byung-hun doesn't want to be interviewed on this cold winter afternoon
Many of today's Hallyu Stars owe their popularity - especially in Japan - to the Four Seasons Dramas.
Bae Yong-joon (Winter Sonata) and Won Bin (Autumn in My Heart) are not able to attend the wedding due to their busy schedules.
Congratulations!: Song Seung-hun (Summer Scent/ Autumn in My Heart) seems to be in high spirits :-)
Cold weather: Son Ye-jin (Summer Scent) is all bundled up
Smiley: Lee So-yeon (Spring Waltz) doesn't mind posing for the camera
Giving an interview: Kwon Hae-Hyo (My Lovely Samsoon) talks to the press
Fashion statement: Han Hyo-joo (Spring Waltz) loves her big red bag
