Hooray, we got to watch the 2007 KBS Music Festival on TV because Malaysia has the KBS World channel (the one and only dedicated Korean channel for all K-popped! Malaysians)!
The event was held at the KBS Hall on Dec 30.
'Remember my name - Fame! I'm gonna live forever, I'm gonna learnhow to fly...high' - JYP enthralls the crowd with his cover of Irene Cara's
Fame. Nah, not really.
The talents were pitted against each other - girls vs. the boys - during the festival and home viewers were encouraged to vote through SMS for either the boy or girl team.
I thought it wasn't fair from the get-go since there are more fan girls than boys and the former would be the group who'd bother with the SMS thingy. So naturally, the boys' team won.
So without further ado, here's a look at what transpired during the event.
Sonyeoshidae sings their self-titled song.
Lee Soo-young strums her really, reallycool guitar while singing about a bob haircut.
Baek Ji-young shows off her sexy back...and legs.
Eru's belt is such an eyesore. The guy's torsois kinda long, huh?
Younha shows off her chili red boots.
SG Wannabe mesmerises the audience with Arirang. Yay!
Epik High's performance had the boys doing cardio interval training.That running on the spot bit during the chorus is ultra cute.
F.T. Island brings the house down.

Below is a look at how the acts were pitted against each other:
Round 1: Big Bang vs. Sonyeoshidae/ Girls' Generation.
The Big Bang boys performed as a quartet that night because TOP collapsed before the show and had to be rushed to the hospital. I was also informed by a Big Bang fan (thanks Momo) that G-Dragon collapsed after the KBS performance. K-popped! wishes the boys the best of health in 2008 and please, take a break.
Round 2: Baek Ji-young vs. Eru
Round 3: Lee Ki-chan vs. Lee Soo-young
Round 4: Younha vs. SG Wannabe
Round 5: Yangpa vs. Epik High
Round 6: SeeYa vs. FT Island
Round 7: Wonder Girls vs. Super Junior
Round 4: Younha vs. SG Wannabe
Round 5: Yangpa vs. Epik High
Round 6: SeeYa vs. FT Island
Round 7: Wonder Girls vs. Super Junior
Apart from the performances, the talents also came together to perform medleys.
Girls' Generation/ Sonyeoshidae don their cheerleader outfit to danceand lip-sync to Toni Basil's Mickey.
SeeYa lip-syncs and dances to Britney Spears' Do Something. The girl on the right looks like she's about to topple over.
Special performances include Shinhwa, Park Jin-young and a hilarious Mini Musical starring cutie pie actress Jo Jung-rin.
...and when things got a little too hot on stage, the guysdecided to cool down with a little onstage "shower" action.

The skit is about how Jung-rin's character is in love withher 선생님 (Tablo).
But Teacher is getting married...to her mother!!(Shin Dong of Suju just loves to joke around, doesn't he?)

everything isn't right for Big Bang now.. they should be given a break or something.
anyway, yeah. i was so excited to watch this on TV last night.
i even purposely watched the repeat just now ^^.
as usual, Shinhwa did well and i like Epik High's performance too!
they did a great job in getting the fans all hyped up!!
and that mini musical was hilarious!
btw, SNSD's Hey Micky! performance reminds me of Micky Yoochun....................
okay, i was being random...
overall, it was a fun music show.
juniors dancing to JYP's songs, the mini musical and that medley of some old songs were COOL! xD
This is better than SBS Music Award. Well, for the outfits especially.
Id didn't watch this show yet. Waiting for some clubbox to finish uploading the HQ one.
So bith TOP and GD collapsed. That must be tough for them.
Wow there are so many award shows crammed into the last few days of the yr - KBS drama awards, KBS music awards, MBC music awards, SBS drama awards - i am confused !!
So this KBS music awards is over ?? Will there be a repeat telecast? I saw the Korea - China song festival the other day, it looked like some music festival/awards show too

I saw this on KBS too! And was smsing with my friend about what's on TV.
During SNSD's Hey Mickey!, my friend said, "Micky must be the happiest guy on earth..."
And Yoona looks like an ahjumma in that outfit. ><;
no doubt the audience had a blast; looks like a fun & entertaining musical night..

if you checked at the website,
it says that there'll be another repeat this morning (1/1/2008) at 10 am.
but when i checked the astro guide,
it says 'KBS Drama Award 2007'.
so im not sure.. sorry >_<
some of them were entertaining. although i still don't get seeya. are they trying to fit in to the current trend of pop teen girls group?
and i wonder what happened to other talented korean artistes. you tend to see the same faces on every single award show, and make them do 2, 3 performances on each show. no wonder they are overworked. don't get me wrong, i am a fan of big bang, suju etc. but wish i could see 8eight, ji eun and bunch of talented others too
Hu... can't watch this coz not at home. will dl it once at home. it not music award show just music festival. the real deal have been cloze coz every tv station want to do it.
Finish watching this! It's great except the theme (male group vs female group}.Just like I thought, of course the male group win!
Ah... the stage too. Why the heck that the stage is too far? Are they worried the fan might jumped into their idol? Even the cameraman having a difficult time to focus his camera to the performers.
I still prefer SBS one *LOL* But the mini musical thingy was reli hilarious! Overall I felt this is like a repeat of the SBS show..and yeap I second what meiruo_chan was saying abt the stage and camera zooming O_o
