Windstruck (2004)

Korean title:
내 여자친구를 소개합니다
(Nae yeo-ja-chin-gu-reul su-gae-ham-ni-da)

What's popping:

After the hugely successful "My Sassy Girl" (2001) director Kwak Jae-yong and lead actress Jeon Ji-hyun teamed up again in "Windstruck" hoping to create similar success. The film opened simultaneously in South Korea and Hong Kong, but failed to match its predecessor when it came to success, hype and critical acclaim.

Jeon Ji-hyun reprises her role of tough chick, which i think she does effortlessly.

The plot:

Gyeong-jin (Jeon Ji-hyun) is a fiesty policewoman who is bold and not afraid to take on anything. In pursuit of a purse snatcher, she ends up arresting the wrong man - a physics teacher, Myung-woo (Jang Hyuk). Later, they meet again when Myung-woo volunteers at the police station Gyeong-jin works at, and they are partnered.

Teacher - cop couple

He is very cautious and meek while she has a devil-may-care attitude when it comes to catching bad people. They are as different as day and night. As they say opposites attract, they soon become a couple. There is a twist at the second half of the show, and although there are a couple of memorable scenes (i love the little paper windmills she made) and sweet story similar to the movie Ghost it wasn't enough to save it for me.

Imagine Patrick Swayze singing "He's like the wind..."

The literal translation to the title of this movie is "Let Me Introduce You To My Girlfriend". Yet... it's called "Windstruck"! x_X

oh thanks Clammy. I was wondering about that!

I guess they renamed it Windstruck because that certain someone came back as the wind to that other person.

My whole thing is, they didn't even try to name it to something similar!!

They don't try to name it in a similar way for a lot of Korean movies, even if the direct translation is more or less okay. It's kind of funny, but I think that this one is the funniest of them.
