Fashion or faux-pas: Scary Shoes

Now Korea and Japan have been known for their interesting and even quirky fashion sense. The gaudy and colourful ensembles adopted by Korean men and women...the huge tent-like dresses in fashion these days...but these scary shoes from Japan has got to take the cake!

These are from Japan and since Korea is so close to the land of the rising sun, it's not long before these hot looks from Japan crosses over.

I mean who in their right minds would wear these shoes, unless:

  1. You're a ballerina and need the extra practice
  2. You are very very VERY vertically challenged and need the extra height boost
  3. Want to scare the daylights out of your friends, family and boyfriend!
  4. You are related to Frankenstein
If you can think of any other reason why one would wear these outrageous footwear and let your feet go through all that torture, please tell us!!!

Do you know who's the designer of those extremely fugly shoes? It's almost a hair away from hooker shoes.

well...it certainly is INTERESTING and different. Two things that go a long way in the fashion world but hardly practical XD

These shoes will make podiatrists very, very rich.

when I see those pictures, first thing that crossed my mind was, "How to walk?" I can't believe that there are people who actually designed and made shoes like these...

These shoes are not meant to be walked in at all. They are designed and used by foot fetishists. They've been around, and for sale, for many many years (more than a decade). A quick google search will reveal the truth.

I like crazy eccentric accessories, but not these so much (well maybe #4-5..but then #5 reminds me of a foot of a black stallion). I'm not fan of platforms (unless done right). Well I know they aren't made to be functional...just to be added to some rich person's collection or to be seen on high-fashion magazines. I've seen really bizarre shoes that I like on the runway...but these in particular remind me of something - This is what street walkers of the future will be wearing.

jthe black lace ballerina pair reminds me of the ones rhianna wore in her umbrella video.

The 7in ballerina shoes I've seen online before, as thigh highs though. They are fetish/dominatrix shoes, and I'm sure the women who wear them get a nice compensation for the discomfort.

they are ugly. enuff said.

OH-MY-GOD! Who the hell would wear shoes like those! The real question is who the hell came up with those designs? *barf*

oh my... i'd never ever wear these shoes! i'd just trip, fall, and miserably break an ankle (or two)!

these are definitely not safe!!

Oh man...that's just totally impractical. I wonder if these shoes will cause any problems due to the lack of ergonomic features.

I find it hard to imagine anyone claiming them to be comfortable.

the ballerina shoes look HELLA painful. I feel painful just looking at them. especially the red ones. ::cringe::

All equally fugly!

The ballerina ones are similar to the ones that Rihanna wore in her 'Umbrella' video though.
