Lee Byung Hun in Japan & Discovery channel

Here's an update on hallyu star Lee Byung Hun. The thirty nine year old actor who is currently working on his drama IRIS was in Japan recently to promote his movie I Come With The Rain.

I Come With The Rain was top 10 on the Japanese box office for two consecutive weeks! On the weekend it was released, the movie ranked fifth place.

Lee Byung Hun, Josh Hartnett and Takuya Kimura appeared on Japan's SMAPxSMAP program to promote their movie. The clip was released in Japan on June 6, 2009. It's a weird weird video.

I have no idea why that Japanese man is dressed up as a woman, and why Takuya Kimura's hair is done up in a bun. At least Lee Byung Hun and Josh Hartnett look normal. Btw...who else loves Lee Byung Hun's deep voice!?

Catch Lee Byung Hun on Hip Korea: Seoul Savvy which premieres at 7pm, Thursday 18 June on Discovery Channel (Astro channel 551)

Let Lee Byun Hun show you the hippest places to visit when in Seoul. He will take you to Apgujeong, Insadong and Samcheong-dong. But of course K-popped! already took you to Samcheong-dong!

Special thanks to K-popped! reader Rubie

Thanks Orchid for the LBH update, really appreciate the highlight. ^^

SMAPxSMAP had always been a crazy fun variety show, already years in running. A number of Korean clebrities had already been invited to the popular show (usually in their Bistro segment, eating dishes cooked by the SMAP members) but for me the one with JH and LBH was really funny and heartwarming.

Here's the English-subbed clip that just came out which will enlighten us of the comedy sketch.

@pandahunnie You're such a darling! TQ! I've replaced the clip with the English subbed one. Previously, i didn't understand a word they said...except when Josh Hartnett spoke in English of course.

Actually, the one posting as a lady is Katori Shingo, a SMAP member. He was posting as a famous fortune teller lady (銀座の母・Ginza no Haha/ Mother of Ginza) here in Japan. The actual lady is very bold, Shingo potrays it in his character very well.
LBH was really sporting in this! I thought he's the serious type LOL

Finally saw the highly anticipated "Hip Korea: LBH" last night!
(Well, arrived home late and got to see only the latter half.)

It was intriguing!!

I think he's an awesome chamelion-like actor;
LBH was especially great and charismatic in the dramas like "All In", "Beautiful Days",
and the flicks such as "JSA", "Bitter-sweet Life", and
"The Good, the bad, and the weird"..

I remember recently he was voted by Japanese women as the #1 guy they want to date the most! Ha.^^

Good news for ya:

According to Astro mag June issue that was delivered to my house, there will be a "rerun" of the show at 6 am this Sat, June 20 (tomorrow early morinig)!!

Just for your information..if you can get up early~
Am gonna watch it again,
since I missed the first half of the program!

@Ayumi, thanks for your comment. Chungmal kamsahamnida. Especially the info about the re-run. I didn't get to catch it last night. Plus i don't subscribe to the Astro magazine.

Chun-mahn-eh-yo ^^, Orchid!

If you want to subscribe to Astro mag, all you have to do is to call 1300 82 3838,
ask the Astro staff that you wanna subscribe to the mag,
and then, he/she will ask your info (name, account #, address), as they are written in your astro bill.

The mag price is 4.80 Riggit (US$1.2).

Geeez, I feel like an Astro sales person, hehe:)

Each day's TV schedule is composed of two pages;
Discovery schedule (Channel 551) is on the first page,
while the schedule for "KBS World (Channel 303)" is on the second page.

By the way, Lee Byung Hun is incredible!
Totally rocks!!
