Rain likes portraying Raizo because 'He’s very sexy'

Korean heartthrob Rain (a.k.a Jung Ji-hoon) loves his character Raizo, in Ninja Assassin because “he’s very sexy” thus our favourite Hallyu Star can easily relate to him. Ha ha…cute.

The 27-year-old, along with the movie’s director James McTeigue, talked to the Korean Beacon in New York on Nov 13.

Praises: Rain (right) on McTeigue: 'He's always awesome, he's the best.'

Rain spoke a little English and seemed more comfortable with the language than in previous interviews. Nonetheless, he was at his best when conversing in Korean.

Ninja says: 'Raizo is not a Japanese character.'

When asked how does it feel to have his own movie, Rain unabashedly replies: “Finally, you know, I’m gonna be a superstar. Keep watching me.”

'koreanbeacon' finally succeeded in inviting Bi for an interview?! Wahh, great~
Yeah, as he's in the 'Big Apple' now...

Rain's currently in New York, giving relay interviews to promote Ninja Assassin;
he'll also visit other major cities in the U.S and Canada.

I just got this video from a pal:

Rain appeared in
'Good Day New York', one of the most watched American morning shows on 'Fox TV' LIVE!

It's quite interesting~ ^^

normally, I'm one of the first to criticise the way he speaks in eng but this interview left me somewhat impressed. WHile it is clear he was given the questions and prepped for the interview (he couldnt have understand the questions and thought of answers so fast), I was amazed at how comfortable he is at some parts with the director.

the soju part at the end is endearing. And he looks like he's goofing around with his old friends, not a director who speaks an alien language that he needs to impress.

This clip is going into my favourites folder for sure

BUt I guess we could already check out some videos on youtube or from some kpop blogs/sites.

His 'official' superhuman training video for NInja Assassin will be also unveiled at the red carpet.

Wonder if Megan fox is invited, too (Korean fans are really curious...!).
If she would plant a kiss on Rain's cheek on the Red Carpet, GAME OVER - haha, it would really help promote the film, though.
(But Rain's fans will be maaad.)

Two of my fav photos of Rain:

Standing in front of humongous NA billboard in Times Square,
Bi's lookin' smart and super-cool! He said his childhood dream had come true...

Other photos - Bi In Hong Kong

One of the reasons he was in HK was to invest in +100 million dollar battery-run car biz.

Check out his hands in the last photo (surrounded by wild HK fans) -
cute...actually, he looks kinda scared..:)

Just wanna share this article from 'Forbes' (wow~!) with yo guys~

It's an amusing article on
how 'Ninja Assassin & Rain' are Hollywood's NEW SUCCESS FORMULA..

........
"We wanted to find a way to create a star like Bruce Lee or even Steven Segal,"
says Silver.

"Rain is charismatic and because of his dance training, he can fight as well as anyone.
He fulfilled all our hopes and dreams."........
If the movie is a hit, expect studios to focus even more development dollars on films aimed at an international audience.

Rain might become the model for the modern movie star....

Heard that many other interesting flicks
such as 'Nine' (Daniel D. Lewis);
'Old Dog' (John Travolta & Robbin Williams) and
of course, explosively popular Twilight's sequel, 'New Moon' are gonna be released simultaneously next week in the U.S.

It'll be tough to top the box office, since Rain has to contend with those huuuuuuuge movie stars.

k-popped readers, go and see Ninja Assassin and support him;
if the movie would become a hit, it might open a new chapter in film industry.
We Asians gotta SUPPORT an Asian!^^

Enjoy your lunch and TGI Friday~*

Rain looks really cute here. And i love <3 it that he speaks English...and so well!

But why is he rubbing James McTeigue's back? Or is that the chair??

Sharp observation, orchid, ha!^*

Korean people sorta pat on someone's back to show support, friendship and closeness,
which creates a special bond.
I think Rain has good people skills, which has been helpful in making friends with renowned Hollywood directors and producers. He's, like, occasionally inviting entire film crew to Korean barbecue/soju parties:)

I was surprised at his English! It was top notch... haha... for a Korean actor la... a bit of accent but his pronunciation was good... the only thing abt the show that I didn't like was it's too gory for me and the bloodshed is quite fake... Styoryline: so-so, action :PLENTY... lol... but hey, don't let this be a out down, it's RAIN ON A BIG SCREEN!! hehe...
