Joon-ki and Chen Kaige team up for movie?

The star of the movie The King and the Clown and TV drama My Girl, Lee Joon-ki (이준기), has been offered to star in a Chinese flick by director Chen Kaige.

The two met at the Shanghai International Film Festival on June 16. Chen was one of the jurors while Joon-ki was a recipient of the Top Foreign Star Award, along with American actress Sharon Stone.

Joon-ki was enthusiastic about the movie offer and said: “I’d love to make the movie if the script is good and the character is right.”

Joon-ki is tremendously popular in China and during his recent visit to Shanghai, fans tailed him around in a convoy of about 20 vehicles! Wow, so scary!

The fans chased the actor on the highway and executed their own action movie-inspired stunts.

The Korean star even said the chase was like a scene straight out of a movie, but added that he was grateful for his Chinese fans’ rabid avid support.
