Soju (소주)

Liz mentioned soju in her previous entry. So i will tell you a little bit about it.

Soju is an alcoholic drink native to Korea. The main ingredient is rice, but it has a combination of other ingredients such as wheat, barley, sweet potato or tapioca. It is clear in colour and has about 20-45% alcohol content. It is said to taste like vodka, but i have yet to try it myself. It is drunk from a small glass - just like vodka.

Soju cocktails are made by mixing soju with something else.

Example: Soju + Beer = poktanju "bomb drink" (like a boilermaker)

Jinro Chamisul Soju is the most popular brand & you will see them drinking from these green bottles in Korean dramas or movies
