Jeon Do-yeon's an influential woman

She bagged the Best Actress Award at the Cannes Film Festival in May and now, she's made it on the list of Variety's 50 Most Influential Women! Thirty-four year old Jeon Do-yeon (전도연) is going from strength to strength.

Movie critics have lauded the award-winning actress for being a "chameleon" as she has the talent to completely immerse herself in the different roles she plays.

At the Cannes Film Festival, Miss Jeon won the Best Actress Award for Secret Sunshine (밀양). In the film, she played a lady who moves to a small town after the deaths of her husband and child. It was directed by Lee Chang-dong and also starred award-winning actor Song Kang-ho (The Host).

Miss Jeon broke the record (and the glass ceiling at the same time) for being the first Korean to win a best acting award at an international film festival. Yeah, you go grrrl!!
