What's popping:
I'm sorry Hyun Bin fans, but this flick is so soppy it borders on irritating. I mean the premise is absolutely manipulative and mid-way through you can't help but wish the character that's supposed to kick the bucket just do it already...and quickly!
There's this terminally ill girl, right? And she should not get upset or overjoyed least her heart decides to stop beating and you have Romeo here, millionaire Kang Jae-kyung, breaking her heart in a million pieces to prevent her from "falling in love" with him. Like that’s not gonna kill her.
What a load of crap.
Also, the then 24-year-old Hyun Bin (현빈) plays an 18-year-old high school student in the movie. I didn't buy it, he looked too matured for a teenager.
The plot:
Rebel without a cause (he's just a rich, spoilt brat) Kang Jae-kyung is a self-centred and nasty adolescent; the kind you’d like to smack some sense into. He gets his come-uppance when his inheritance, left to him by his wealthy Grandpa, comes with a condition attached.
He has to return to some backward village and complete his high school education before receiving the millions.
There, he meets a hard-working and clever young girl named Eun-hwan (Lee Yeon-hee, 이연희), who is suffering from a fatal heart condition. Jae-kyung despises her at first (as they always do) but soon the pair fall in love and the rich kid discovers that their relationship runs a little deeper than their current romance.
However, someone's about to die. So how now, brown cow?

I just watched this movie. It is okay - not as bad as some others. But how come people die a lot in Korean movies? They either have some terminal disease or meet with a tragic car accident.
Anyway, yeah i agree with Liz.
The movie is a bit too draggy & unbelievable. Not much substance.
However, the scenes are quite lovely as it is shot in a small village in South Korea.
I dunno wth you guys are talking about! I loved the movie!
I like this movie and very sad
"However, someone's about to die. So how now, brown cow?"
LMAO!!! That one's a killer...yeah...at least one character dies...in every Korean drama I've watched, may it be series or movie...I guess that's how it has to be to achieve that drama vibe..Funny as it may seem but I like it! ;)
By the way, nice site you have..Hopefully you can update it and then some.. ;)
