Wonderful Korean food

I got a booklet on Korean food from the Korea Tourism Organization (http://www.tour2korea.com/) recently and found it an interesting read, although very “touristy”. But that’s exactly what one should expect from a publication catered for tourists, right?

Entitled The Wonderful World of Korean Food (pic above), the booklet introduces us to kimchi and its various kinds, spices used in Korean cuisine, types of table settings, delicacies from different provinces, notable restaurants in the country and much more.

It describes the versatility of Korean food: from the simple, no-frills, vegetarian cuisine served at temples to east-meets-west fusion dishes at upscale restaurants.

Apart from that, there are also recipes for favourites such as Bulgogi (barbequed beef – sometimes pork), Samgyetang (chicken ginseng soup), Bibimbap and Japchae (potato noodles stir-fried with vegetables).

If you want a copy of the booklet, hit the link above to check out KTO’s website. If I’m not mistaken, you can actually request for materials through e-mail. Make sure you go to the Kuala Lumpur office section.
