Venus Williams in a hanbok

Venus Williams of the United States and Maria Kirilenko of Russia donned the hanbok during the awards ceremony for the Hansol Korea Open tennis tournament on Sept 30. The event was held at the Olympic Park in Seoul, South Korea.

It is said that Williams' hanbok costs approximately US$3,200 (RM10,875). Williams, who is ranked 9th in the world, bagged the title - 4th Queen of Hansol Korea Open - by defeating Kirilenko (ranked 29th) 2-1 (6-3, 1-6, 6-4).


Williams also received a koryochungja, a vase made of Korean green porcelain.

How come Venus Williams is wearing a hanbok with tennis shoes?!!!!!

Shouldn't they be wearing it with some other kind of footwear? :-)

I'm guessing that they didn't have any other shoes in her size. I've got the same problem. xD
