Hallyuwood meets Bollywood at K-popped! as the Trio is all set to join the Deepavali (or Diwali) celebrations.
Also known as the Festival of Lights, the occasion marks the triumph of good over evil and is celebrated in Malaysia by the Hindu community, mainly consisting those of Indian ethnic origin. This year, Deepavali falls on Nov 8.
As you can see, the K-popped! Trio has swapped their Hallloween costumes for the Indian traditional wear called sari. Each of us is snuggly wrapped up in 6 metres of cloth. The red pottu (dot in the centre of the forehead) denotes happiness and well-being.
Rooster is up to her hilarious antics again, this time shaking her bon-bon to bhangra music. Burning off the calories are we, Rooster? Had one too many murukkus? ;-)
Orchid is definitely getting into the spirit of things as her broad smile that lights up the site is only matched by the deepam (oil lamps) she holds in her hands.
And last but not least, with sweet-smelling jasmine flowers in my hair, I've burst into a song about the victory of light over dark.
We hope you’ll get into the spirit of things as well and enjoy the Deepavali celebrations with us. Another festival means another round of good food and great company! Malaysia and its many festivals rock.
Virtual murukkus and drinks for all K-popped! visitors. Munch away, friends.
