Who is the Rain wannabe?

We know Bi is hot, and many out there would want to be him.

Well, Chinese singer Hwang Hyo-myeong or
Huang Xiao Ming (황효명 / 黃曉明) came out with his new album entitled I'm Coming (It's Ming/2007) which displays a lot of similarities to Rain's 4th album - Rain's World. Are you kiddin' me? The title of the album itself is a dead give-away.

Same military gear and dark glasses.
But of course we think Bi looks MUCH better.

Ming released his album on the 12th Dec and this has become a very hot topic. People can't help but notice the similarities.

Ming wears the military outfit while performing, very similar to Rain's
I'm Coming military theme. On the cover of Rain's World, Rain has a tattoo of a star on his chest. Ming displays a tattoo too, but the location is on his back.

Hmmm...the hair, the tattoo...
Ming, please be original.

The first two tracks of It's Ming are entitled:
  • Yeah, it's Ming time
  • I'm coming
Why is this artist deliberately copying Rain's style? It seems Ming has many fans in Korea. Well, i don't think the Koreans want a Rain copycat. They already have the real thing. ;-)

Maybe since Rain is trying to make it State side....Ming is trying to keep the Asian Rain going.

OKAY now.....fair is fair.....the Korean stars copied MJ long enough so stop HATIN on MING give him a chance to show what he's made of...everyone is not a Rain fan...when he stops copying MJ i might become one..an so will alot more of us in the USA...so give MING a break...lets see what CHINA has to offer besides good movies...although Korean Actors are MUCH better looking.

Ew! China pirated copy. *giggle*

Actually, Huang Xiao Ming is an actor too! I've seen him in TV dramas and he was in The Banquet with Zhang Zi Yi. He played the Minister's son.

Ha ha ha, someone needs a fresh concept. Does he dance like Rain too?

ehh. whatever. i agree with pauline. im not fans of wannabe's, but rain is one anyway, so who cares if others copy him? and i agree. even though i'm korean, i dislike rain.

maybe he thinks it's better to be good and copy concept that u know would sell well rather than having the talent and trying to present a different concept that could either pop or flop

Wa, want copy also don't copy until 99% ba. D:
The newspaper today has Ming's comment about this issue. Ming said that the backstage producers are mostly Korean, so they have some similar taste(?). And he also said that one of them(I don't know what post lah) doesn't even know Rain. I was like, wtf, Rain so hot and he tell me that fellar doesn't even know Rain. D: I can accept everything except the fact that he doesn't know Rain at all.

Being into Korean music for sometime I know that Koreans over the top copy too. Though I am not sure I have ever seen anything quite this blatant! Haha Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! And judging from this, he's the biggest Bi fan EVAR.

I just think he coulda stole another one of Bi's looks-- cuz this was far from my favorite :-P

If he wants to be successful in the music bussiness he has to have his own style. I'm sad to say that his song "I'm coming" sounds like Lee Hyori's "Toc Toc Toc" single. When you copy someone that's currently famous in Asia and plagiarize other artist's song at the same time it's just too much..and Rain just released his album last year..and him copying Michael Jackson, he's not the only one that does that and has expressed that Michael Jackson is one of his inspirations..maybe this guy is a fan of RAin too. but he has to have his own style...I hope Rain's fans doesn't go overboard...glad Michael Jackson's fans are not as crazy as korean celebrities' fans are..hahaha

It doesnt SOUND like toc toc toc, it ISSSS toc toc toc.
no one mentioned that in the articles? i'm surprised
funny how he changes the lyrics from 'baby toctoctoc' to 'baby i'm com-ing', successfully ripping off both of the most influential stars in korea

I like Rain to much to be bothered by the talk that he copies MJ. Lots of other artistes copy MJ cos he had stuff worth copying (some enhanced it along the way)
But i do get bothered by Rain copycats.

ALso "read" the chinese newspaper coverage *iono chinese T_T* and so much coverage on Ming as well...

Yeap it's so HyoRi's Toc, toc, toc...and MING IS COMING...*shudders*
