Insooni’s Goose Dream and ‘Best of’ album

R&B diva Insooni (인순이), who recently celebrated her 30th year in showbiz, has released her greatest hits album entitled Anthology 97 – 08.

Staying power: Insooni is a talented diva who reinvents herself

The songbird, who debuted in 1978 as a member of the Hee Sisters, established herself as a solo pop artist in the 80s.

She is a versatile performer who reinvents herself throughout the years, boldly experimenting with different styles of music and working with the younger generation of hip hop and R&B artists.

On sale now: You can get Insooni's greatest hits
album at
YesAsia.com

Her greatest hits album contains 20 songs, all of which have been remastered for better sound quality. The 51-year-old (with crazy hair) is currently recording another album scheduled for release in either March or April.

Born of a Korean mother and an African-American father, Insooni can really blow! Check out the song Goose Dream below. Make sure you get to the chorus as it’ll send chills down your back.

MV credit: Grandam1999

The song is about seemingly unattainable dreams and I enjoyed the concept of the MV. It shows the diva singing in what appears to be an empty room, but you’ll soon discover that she’s actually “running after her dream”.

Play it loud.

I love Insooni ALOT. She's gotta be one of my fav Korean singers of all time. -I don't mean to make this sound like a racially biased statement but The first time I saw her I could see how much soul she had compared to other Korean performers... Then when I heard that she never even met her father I was amazed! Because her stage presence is much more like Black American performers than Korean ones and its not something rehearsed it comes so natural to her. So I conclude that it is just in her genes! It's amazing really!
BTW I love her performance of this song with Se7en, Lee Seung Gi, Eru, and Jaejoong from dbsk (Jaejoong blew the other guys away *cough* no bias here ^^) watch the vid here

Oh, I noticed her song sang by Kim Hyun Joo in In-soon is Pretty. One of the reason why I like the drama. The lyrics are so inspiring!

Isn't the Goose Dream originally by Carnival?

Yes, it's originally sung by Carnival.

Who is/are Carnival? A band?

Yes Liz, it's a two-men band. The two guys are from two different bands. Lee Jeok from Panic, and Kim Dong Ryul from Exhibition. Both were great bands and Carnival also produced some great tunes, but the band lived short. I think they made only an album or two.
