Bae Yong-joon lends voice to animated version of Winter Sonata

Yes, you read it right. There will be a Winter Sonata animated series.

Apparently, Hallyu actor Bae Yong-joon will not just settle for the strong ajumma fan base in Japan, and is taking his starpower to the Japanese kids as well. Now watching Winter Sonata can be a family affair – it's an activity Mom and kids (and maybe Dad?) will enjoy :-).

The 36-year-old star is set to lend his voice to the animated version of the popular drama series, which is being jointly produced by Bae’s Keyeast Inc. and Japan’s Total Promotion Company.

The animated Winter Sonata is being made for both the small and big screens! A preview of the series as well as a video message from Bae will be screened during a press conference in Tokyo on March 28.

Winter Sonata, which stars Bae Yong-joon and Choi Ji-woo, aired in 2002 on the KBS network. It became such a phenomenal hit that the drama even boosted tourism to Korea, as there are many tour packages to visit the location where the drama was filmed.

Ah, you’ve just gotta love the Korean Wave.

You know, I always thought that perhaps he has a skin condition because it seems like he wears entirely too much foundation.

I'm a big fan of BYJ but this animated version of WS is stupid and unnecessary. Enough WS already!! Surely there are new projects everyone, including BYJ, can work on. I cannot believe he's working on this. He doesn't need to back-pedal in his career, especially at his age. He needs to find something new and creative to do.

I am sooooooooo sick of WS. Sick of seeing pictures from it, sick of seeing it written about every time there is a discussion about K-drama, K-culture, you name it. Sick of the fans discussing it constantly. Sick of it. I have never seen or heard of such an obsession and fixation on a movie in my life. It's not like it was even all that good.

Aw,come one. Just because your sick of it doesn't mean it's unnecessary.
And heck, yeah. It IS all that wicked good. Also, they're not covering the whole series.Just some part and others that weren't included in it,as what I've read somewhere says.
Do you really thought that they would convert it to an anime for just the sake of making an ANIME?!
Hah!
