Are you following the drama series Single Papa in Love on the KBS World network (Astro Channel 303)? I’m enjoying how the story unfolds. Too bad I missed the first few episodes.
I’ve always thought Couple or Trouble actor Oh Ji-ho as a hunk, but I must say that in this series, I look forward to watching Oh’s co-star instead. Little Ahn Do-gyu, who plays Oh’s son Kang San in the series, is absolutely adorable! Love the sequences when the 7-year-old nags Daddy about cleanliness and house chores.

Like the title suggests, the drama is about single father Kang Pung-ho (Oh), who lives with his young son Kang San (Ahn). When Kang San was just a little baby, his Mom walked out on both Daddy and him to pursue her dreams of becoming a pianist.
Dad, who is an orphan, works as a pest exterminator to make ends meet. He also moonlights as a boxer in hopes of making a name for himself…and the extra cash comes in handy for them as well.

Yup, there you go – drama. Also in last night’s episode, little Kang San is diagnosed with brain tumour and man, what a heart wrenching scene it was to see Pung-ho begging Ha-ri’s surgeon dad to perform the operation on his son. And how about that final sequence where Pung-ho shaved off Kang San’s hair for the operation, huh?

I thought Oh nailed that scene. Who’d thought shaving a kid’s head could be turned into such an emotional moment. I’m looking forward to the following episodes. How about you?
Single Papa in Love airs every Monday and Tuesday from 9pm onwards. Yup, it takes over the Bad Love slot.

Oh sounds interesting! The emotional part of shaving his child's hair off reminds me of Sangdoo, let's go to school. There's a similar scene in that drama as well, where Jung Ji-hoon shave's off his cancer stricken daughter's hair.

ha! i knew that they would put someone dying to make the series more interesting. very predictable in korean movies/series. so, did the ratings come up? 'cause a few weeks(?) ago the news about it is that it really ranked low..

i really dislike kang san omuni..i couldn't believe there's such mom!! she could leave her poor child with his father for whole six years!!

I like this drama except for the sad ending which was typical in Korean dramas. Why won't the Korean PD changed into better happy endings. I think the sad endings & the similiarities of the dramas were the reasons for low ratings. Most dramas were very predictable when one of the lead star has some kind of illness such as cancer, amnesia, etc. PD, please change this trend. Inspite of the low rating, I really admire Oh Ji Ho for his dramatic acting as well as his child partner who acted as his son.
By the way, did the character played by Oh Ji Ho died? I could not quite understand the ending of this drama Episode 16 part 4 when they were watching the DVD of Oh Ji Ho's character pretending to be on training. Was that the ending?

The "conclusion" is left for you to figure out. Did he die? Did he finish "training" and meet his son again? You make your own conclusion.
Bad ending i say! I don't particularly like open-ended endings. After spending so much time watching the drama, you must be rewarded with a definitive ending!
I watched this drama in the website www.mysoju.com. Great drama, great casts especially Oh Ji Ho (the Dad) & Ahn Do Gyu (the son). I cried a lot especially that episode when the dad shaved his son's head. Oh Ji Ho did great acting on this drama & I hope he'll get the best actor award. I could not understand the ending eventhough I watched the last episode twice, but I noticed on the bottom part of the screen it stated "next episode, coming soon". Will there be a second part? I hope so.
