Culture Trilogy

What’s popping:

A weekly documentary that takes a close look at differences between the traditions and culture of the Koreans, Japanese and Chinese.

There will be a different theme each week and I’ve managed to catch the episode on artwork and another on the lifestyle of single women living in the city.

The latter was interesting as it followed the lives of three ladies – one living in Seoul, another in Tokyo and the last one in Shanghai. We got to take a peek into their lives as they went about their daily activities. These women were also asked about the challenges they faced in their career as well as romance ;-).

The plot:

Korea, China and Japan may seem similar, but this one-hour documentary helps you discover each country’s unique culture that sets them apart.

Watch it:

  • Astro TVB8 (Channel 33)
  • Mandarin with Chinese subtitles but English subtitles also pop up (thank goodness!) when the interview subjects speak (in either Korean, Japanese or Mandarin).
  • Tuesday
  • 9pm-10pm
