Possessed (2006)

Korean title: There ain’t no Korean title as this one is made in Malaysia ;-).

What’s popping:

This is old news to many but did you know that South Korean transsexual Harisu appears in this flick directed by Bjarne Wong? The film also stars Amber Chia (a local international model).

Harisu and Amber play sisters here. Sadly, the movie didn’t do well at the local box office; one critic even described it as “effortless in its badness” and “this Malaysian production is frightfully funny”. Ugh, not very flattering, yah?

I didn’t watch the movie. Horror flicks – no matter how unintentionally funny they are – aren’t really my thing because all creepy images tend to play on a loop in my mind’s eye. Nightmare, I tell you.

Anyway, this big screen disaster is Harisu’s first shot at portraying a woman and a ghost. (I got that off the movie’s official website).

The plot:

A story about obsession with beauty. Two sisters (hey, like us, Orchid!) get their lives and soul entangled in a web of seduction, deceit and horror.
