Yoon Eun-hye (윤은혜)

From replacement singer to in-demand actress. Yoon Eun-hye couldn’t possibly see the broad appeal of Princess Hours coming when she signed on to replace Lee Gai as a Baby V.O.X. member back in 1999.

(Lee Gai was booted out of the girl group when it was discovered that she lied to the management company about her age. It's a crime to age in Korea...oh, where art thou, Fountain of Youth?)

Eun-hye debuted with Baby V.O.X at the age of 15 and was with the quartet/quintet/trio – depending on which year – until 2005. By that time, the group already had 4 albums under its belt.

Being part of the group was not without incident. An anti-Eun-hye psycho attacked the girl with a water gun by pretending to be a fan. He acted as if he wanted to give her a Pikachu soft toy as a present but when he got close enough, he pulled out his water gun and squirted a nasty combination of soy sauce and vinegar into the unsuspecting Eun-hye's eye. Her cornea was damaged because of that!

Sheesh, I hope the psycho overdoses on his soya sauce and vinegar cocktail one day.

Once Eun-hye left Baby V.O.X. she tried acting, making the transition in a small role on the Nonstop 4 sitcom. She appeared opposite MC Mong before moving on to become a regular guest on variety show X-Man.

During X-Man, rumours about a romantic relationship with Kpop singer Kim Joong-kook surfaced. The tongues continued to wag when she appeared in the singer's Saying You Love Me music video, released in July 2006.

The 23-year-old's first leading role was in popular Korean series Princess Hours (Goong). It was so popular that 4 additional episodes were added to the initial 20-episode drama. And of course, she secured her stardom with the very addictive (we hear) Coffee Prince, where she plays an androgynous tomboy hired by the coffee shop owner who thinks that she is a he. Hmm, wouldn't toilet breaks be a giveaway?

It is also reported that Eun-hye is currently in a legal tussle with her management company Eight Peaks. The actress is unhappy with the representation and wants out of the contract with the company.

She's done an amazing job in Coffee Prince . Never has anything like this happens to me previously , but I think I'm in love with a fiction character . Maybe because I watched it 17 hours straight hahaha . I'll have to say it's because of the story telling excellence and her performance . Now I miss Yoon Eun Hye so much , which literally I've gone crazy ;)

this girl is soooo overrated! there's nothing special about her acting and she's not even that pretty!

Actually, she did very well in Coffee Prince. It might creep any girl out to see her act so tomboy-ish (did you see her eat?!). I was impressed with her performance in that drama. Besides that, her appearances in X-man really cemented my liking her and the rumour surrounding her supposed-to-be relationship with Kim Jong Kook. It's actually amusing.

Besides that, she is very strong. :3

I think she's good, I have watched Coffee Prince many times, and she never cease to amaze me. anyway, about her singing, I heard her once singing "White love story", though it was a short line I could say that she can sing. She might not be like other claimed korean singers, but her voice isn't that bad at all. So stop being mean to her, anyway she's just doing her job. F.Y.I. I'm not korean but atleast I know how to respect korean talents. Thanks! Godbless *_*

she's okay.....i've seen way better and prettier too, so i don't what all the hype is about this girl.

I think the reason behind her fame is that she's got the X-factor. She's got something you can't really pinpoint or explain but once you watch her in different situations you won't be able to help yourself but love her. She may not be the prettiest girl amongst all Korean actresses, or she may not be the best singer but she's got an amazing personality and warm character. I don't know, i think it's the combination of everything that she is that makes her so lovable. By the way I think she her acting was commendable in Coffee Prince. The best K-drama I've watched.

thanks for making a profile on the amazing YEH! her legal woes with eight peaks is over and now she's represented by Kraze Entertainment.

i agree that she has a certain charming charisma that makes her so appealing. in all of the xman episodes, she's funny, adept, and considerate toward the other players. i like how she's not the boring, traditional korean actress--she eats a ton, is really good at wrestling/sports, and is very modest about her looks and talent.

thankyou so much the profile....also i just wanted to comment on something ....i was scannng through the feedbacks and i notice that many said that she was an overrated actress... i really think thats a very stupid and ignorant comment.... if you knew anything whatsoever about Yeh's background you would not said that.... before she rose to fame... she indure alot of criticims.... backstabing and pain ...from her anti fans and so on.... it wasn't as if ....she woke up one day and everyone just praise her ...she had to fight for what she has ...and personally her determination, willpower, and strength are what makes us fan love her so much....all that to say this ... her hard work and perseverance paid off, as it should.

Yes, there are prettier ( not that she is not) and more talented actresss but so what?

YEH has got the x-factor. You just like her when u see her. This is more important. Over-rated, I dont thnk so. She is versatile and good and u feel with her character when she act. I m not korean and dont really watch Korean movie but I watch Korean Drama becos she is in it.

She just got that something special that u can pinpoint what is it and let's just call it the x-factor or God-factor.
