Lee Jun-ki joins Emperor Entertainment Group

King and the Clown star Lee Jun-ki will be making waves in Taiwan, China and Hong Kong very, very soon as he has just inked a deal with Emperor Entertainment Group (EEG).

The company, which is already representing stars such as Jackie Chan, Joey Yung and Twins, will be handling the Korean star's foray into the Chinese market.

To create hype, the 25-year-old was in Hong Kong on Oct 2 for a meet-the-fans session. Jun-ki appeared to a crowd of screaming chickadees, chatted with Joey Yung a little, and sat on a replica throne from the movie King and the Clown.

It is rumoured that he added US$1.3mil to his (already overflowing?) coffers for appearing at the event! What, are you kiddin' me? The rich just gets richer. Gimme US$7,000 (I like the number 7) for appearing to a crowd and scribbling my name on sheets of paper and I'm a happy camper. However, EEG refuses to confirm the rumour.

Jun-ki is set to launch his career in the Chinese-speaking territories with a movie. Let's all hope it isn't a collaboration with Chen Kaige, the director who helmed The Promise. Poor Jang Dong-gun, look what the helmer did to him?
