Jeon Do-yeon, JYP and André Kim make Koreans proud

Jeon Do-yeon, JYP and André Kim were among 14 individuals honoured with the "Proud Korean" (자랑스런 한국인대상) title.

The event was held on 27 December, 3pm at Seoul.

Jeon Do-yeon was honoured for her outstanding accomplishments as a motion picture actress, Park Jin-young for his contribution in arts and entertainment, and André Kim was honoured for his fashion designs.

Others individuals honoured (who are unknowned to K-popped!) were those who have contributed in politics, economy, the society and culture.

Actress Jeon Do-yeon (34) has won seven awards in year 2007 itself. Those awards include Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival, Special Award at Korea's prestigious Daejong Film Festival and also Best Actress at the Blue Dragon and Korean Film Festivals. [View full list of awards]

Jeon's movie "Secret Sunshine" will also be Korea's entry movie at the Academy Awards.

Producer and singer JYP has been in the limelight a lot lately, due to his comeback to the stage. But i think this award is for his work as a producer. He is a talented composer and has contributed much to the Korean entertainment scene by discovering and nurturing artists such as world star Rain (Jung Ji-hoon), Wonder Girls, J Lim and up and coming Min and G-Soul.

As for André Kim, he is one of Korea's most notable designers plus he is also UNICEF's Goodwill Ambassador.
