The 36-year-old Hallyu star was supposed to attend the Face in Japan Premium Event in Tokyo, Japan on Aug 14 last year. He was a no-show, which led the Japanese event planning company, Togashi, to sue Bae Yong-joon for alleged breach of contract.
Togashi filed a lawsuit against Bae, his agency Keyeast and former Keyeast representative Bae Sung-woong. The plaintiff is seeking US$106,000 (US$1 = RM3.23) in damages.
A statement released by Keyeast said there wasn’t any contract with Togashi and at that time, Bae was in the midst of filming a TV drama series in Korea. It was impossible for him to attend the event.
Keyeast will be countersuing Togashi as it believes that the 3 defendants have been “seriously damaged by this senseless accusation.”
