Orchid had to attend to something urgent last night so she was unable to watch the final episode of Bad Love. Thus Liz is stuck with given the honours to bring you Episode 20 of Bad Love…so let’s get on with the recap of this flashback-filled episode!
In the previous episode, the less zombified Na In-jung (Lee Yo-won) and sizzling hot Kang Yong-gi (Kwon Sang-woo) parted ways as promised – right after Yong-gi’s birthday in Spring.
Episode 20 starts off with two children playing on the see-saw, which reminds In-jung of Yong-gi because he lovingly hand-crafted a see-saw-inspired bench for her.

In-jung thinks of Yong-gi when she sees thesee-saw and goes: Yong-gi ah, how are you doing?
The Korean words read: 1 Year LaterIn-jung has undergone an operation to allow her to play the cello once again and she teaches children how to play the instrument.
In-jung and her kids talk about love...seriously! They asked herwhether she has a boyfriend and when she answered yes,
they asked why they have not seen him before.
Yong-gi on the other hand is at the airport, as he has just returned to Korea after gaining much success as a pop artist in the US.

He’s going to hold an exhibition in his motherland. While walking out of the airport, he speaks English with a Mat Salleh (white guy), but I couldn’t understand BOTH of them.
They speak English here, hence the Korean subtitles, butI couldn't understand a word! Note to self: Must brush
up on Korean.
Yong-gi is picked up at the airport by his former driver, who claims to be a famous singer now.
Former driver and comic relief comes to pick Yong-gi (left) up.He asks Yong-gi if he misses In-jung. Du-uh.
Yong-gi makes a stop at the Daehan Constuction headquarters to meet his good friend Christian and they talk about how well the new CEO is doing.
'Yo buddy, new CEO handlin' things alright? Great!I'm off to Samcheok then. Ta!'
Yes, Yong-gi has washed his hands off the company and is pursuing his pop artist aspirations, with very promising results.
As fate would have it, both In-jung and Yong-gi decide to make a trip to Samcheok, their former love nest, on the same day. The former to “visit” her father’s watery grave (his ashes were strewn into the ocean), while the latter to…I dunno…for old time’s sake?

In-jung takes the bus to SamcheokWhile on their journey there – she on a public bus, while he in his expensive Beemer – their paths cross but they never actually meet. It happened so many times, it was funny.
They missed each other while on the road - Yong-gi's inhis car while In-jung's in the bus
They missed each other at the rest stop too
But finally meet, phew!They finally meet at the dock, a poignant moment as this was the very spot where they first met. After going out on the boat, the pair then make their way to pay homage to Kim Joann’s tree. Miraculously, the tree survived after being burned by Yong-gi.

In-jung tells Yong-gi that the tree played a part in bringing them together despite it being a reminder to Yong-gi of his turbulent relationship with the suicidal Joann.
Yong-gi and In-jung leave separately, but not before In-jung informs Yong-gi that Chansuk and Samchun are getting married!
Meanwhile, Kang Joo-ran (Kim Ga-yeon) and her daughter Miso visit Suhwan’s columbarium to wish him farewell. Both mother and child are migrating...one of the reasons is Miso's crush on a boy named Boram.

Yongi-gi is happy to be home with the family.He secretly asks Miso if her Mom still
drinks...Miso says, "Not a drop!"
All is forgiven in the Kang clan as Stepmother has accepted Yong-gi and promises to cook his fav fish dish for him anytime he wants. He promises to go golfing with her. They will have to keep each other company since Joo-ran and Miso will be migrating soon.
All is well, Stepmother accepts Yong-gi as her own son nowYong-gi develops high fever while he sleeps and Miso, who goes to check on her hawt Uncle, quickly alerts Mom. While Stepmom goes to get the Doctor, Joo-ran stays behind and hears Yong-gi murmuring In-jung’s name while in delirium.
Yong-gi goes: 'In-jung ah, In-jung ah, In-jung ah'Poor Joo-ran, her late husband called out In-jung’s name as well when he was sick…and now Yong-gi? As a consequence of that, she calls In-jung for one last meeting.
No, we won't be meeting up for the Chuseok holidays eitherJoo-ran tells In-jung: “I hate you so much. I can’t live under the same sky with you. That’s why I’m leaving. It would be better for the both of you.” That’s as close as a blessing In-jung will ever get from Joo-ran to be with Yong-gi.
Joo-ran then walks away into the night, never to be seen again by In-jung...I think. I guess there won’t be a Seollal gathering for the Kang family.
Next, we see Yong-gi sending Joo-ran and Miso off at the airport. Before leaving for good, Joo-ran says to Yong-gi: “This is your life, you should live it the way you want to.”
Bye-bye Miso and Joo-ranWhat? Another indirect blessing from Joo-ran for Yong-gi to hook up with In-jung? Well, zip-a-dee-doo-dah!
After seeing Miso and Joo-ran off at the airport, Yong-gi attends Samchun and Chansuk’s wedding.
Congratulations to the bride and groom!Yong-gi stops in his tracks when he spots In-jung and both of them stare at each other, thinking that this should be their b100dy wedding instead!
Man, this should be OUR weddingIn-jung performs as part of the string musicians and later, Yong-gi informs her that she plays beautifully.
Chansuk throws her bouquet and Yong-gi catches it and hands it over to In-jung.
Take this, it's destiny. We're getting married next.In-jung says she has to leave. Sheesh.
While cooped up in the backroom, In-jung ponders longingly about Yong-gi (flashback sequence!).
In-jung leaves to go grab her purse in the backroom...andreminisce about the good times with Yong-gi.
Shrugging off her thoughts as wishful thinking, In-jung opens the door of the backroom and lo and behold, Prince Charming is standing there! He pulls her into his arms for a warm embrace.
Omigosh, handsome Oppa is waiting at the otherside of the door!
Hugs...eh, why no kiss?The on again/ off again couple finally decide to “never let each other go” no matter how difficult things get. They now have the freedom to love one another, what with Suhwan six feet underground, Joo-ran and Miso thousands of miles away and Stepmom being all putty in the palm of Yong-gi’s hands.
Finally, they take a stroll together and actually enjoy the activity & company
The lovebirds then visit Yong-gi’s house at Samcheok again, walking along the streets hand-in-hand.
As the road winds its way to the house, the bench Yongi-gi crafted for In-jung comes into view and the lovebirds leisurely make their way to it…and sits down.

Love K-popped! I'm sad Bad Love is over. Can anyone tell me why fingers are not interlinked when holding hands? Oppa needs to do more butt exercises. It's too flat!!

herm. the last episode wasn't that interesting to me! No offense, but it was dull to me :sweat: hehe. but overall, sometimes the drama gave me the chill too on previous episodes. :) ahh. Now, I don't know what to watch on TV. I didn't follow Hong Gil Dong from the beginning, huhu =(.

The final episode of Bad Love was very bland to me. It was just tying up loose ends without any "oomph" to the drama. Lee Yo-won's In-jung didn't look happy enough to finally be with the love of her life Yong-gi. What is that? Her deadpan look continued...even when Yong-gi couldn't stand it any longer and showed up behind the door. He grabbed her into his embrace but she did not look too eager and did not hug back or kiss him or anything. Her acting was just too bland.
Little Miso was the star of this episode. She's just so cute!

I'll miss this series, but is it just me or were the leads more affectionate with their previous lovers than with each other? The lack of passion throughout their relationship was kind of a bummer.

as much as i've been hooked on bad love, i'd have to agree with arin and orchid... the finale did not deliver.
the ending could've developed to be more than just copying/pasting a gazillion flashbacks and voice overs. and were they serious with the last scene with the two of them sitting there awkwardly and still so serious? shouldn't they have been a tad bit happier that they can be together? disappointing...
That was a fantastic recap, I particularly liked the parts describibng all the hawtness, and all. It was good real good.
Im sad she got with In Jung or Gigi or whatever the hell in the end cause I liked SuHwan. Oh well, when this goes down in my life you know which man Ill choose.

At the start of the ep, I wasnt sure if they'd end up together but it was good to see them not moping and getting on well w/out each other, as yong-gi said, they still love each other but dun need to cling to each other. He summed it up saying - it's the emptiness of being alone vs the burden of being together
Like Liz, I couldnt understand a word of KSW's english - it was all slurred together. Oppa needs english lessons - fast.
I like the funny exchanges between Yong-gi and his former driver - that guy is a natural. Both actors looked like they had fun filming together.
The many flashback scenes were nice and I enjoyed them.
I suppose in-jung running into yong-gi at samcheok was apt because they both bonded over her late dad who adored yong-gi.
For me, Juran's cter has completely redeemed herself. Even though she never explicitly said " get back together" it was good enough that she approached them separately.
The writers always remind us thru out the series that the boy loves the girl more (this being a main KSW vehicle made for him ). Even Juran says it isn't a good thing for girl to like a boy more than he likes her back.
And it was heartwarming to see yong-gi and stepmum getting on well. What's with his mystery ailment in the middle of the night that disappeared as quickly as it arrived ?

Given the title, many thought it'd end badly.
Little Miso is cute, minus the ajumma curls. Good thing she and her mum both lost the bad hairdos
Parting shot - come to think of it, if Juran didnt forgive In-jung, In-jung's burden may not have been eased and she may not have accepted Yong-gi again.

This show was about different types or perceptions of love...Love that was not realized until it was gone, love that was one sided, love where nothing else mattered, love where the reality of life interfered. All of the main characters had their own views of love and grew to understand other peoples types of love. That's why I love Bad Love. There was growth and understanding in the characters. Thanks for the discussion K-popped!

Yeah I did get the impression the theme of love they touched on did involve growing up and growing thru the love they had.

Anyways I gotta be real... this drama was so umm... what is the worddd >>thinking<< oohh yeah Dragging!! and the last Episode... What was that? C'mon!! Not even a kiss?? O.O
All I gotta say is at least KYG or IJ Didn't die!! LOL
Although I would watch this drama all over again KSW Oppa is BURNING HOT, OMG the part I loved the most was when he took his black Tshirt off "drooling ^-^"

I wldnt mind watching eps 2 to 5 again - they were funny. And it seems like they happened so long ago that my memory's a blur, i only remember the recent scenes. I can't wait for the DVD to be released.

I am dying for the movie "A Destiny" to come out..KSW Oppa looks hot! I believe he is going to be kind of a bad Guy 0.0 , it comes out May 8th in Korea. He is also going to be the lead actor of a drama called Dae Mul the story plot Sounds very interesting!

Regarding the Korean Drama "Dae Mul" yes it has been confirmed that he is going to be the male lead actor in the drama, currently it hasn't been stablished who the lead actress is.

This drama is adapted from a popular manhwa of the same name.
Kwon Sang woo will be playing the role of a male socialite who is ordered to create a scandal to bring down a woman whose the dream is to become South Korean first female president by her enemies
This is going to be a SBS Drama and is set to air next Summer after Kdrama 'On air'.

Yes i wrote about Dae Mul before, but at that time, it wasn't confirmed that Sang-woo sshi would take the role. Glad to hear he will be doing it, although we won't get to see the drama when it airs because it is on SBS.
@fraulein & mel...i agree, the part where KSW takes off his shirt in his workroom was totally unnecessary. Why would one take off his shirt in the cold winter months unless his aim is to catch a chill? Hahaha...but that act certainly boosted the ratings for that particular episode. ;-)
@Orchid... yes, that Bad Love episode had 2 unnecessary KSW shirtless scenes, but I was never more attentive in my life. :)
They should have had a shirtless scene in every episode to get the ratings up. Maybe that would've worked. :)

It is going to be Ko Hyun Jung she is going to be playing Miss Seo Hye Rim, I haven't seen her in any other Drama/Movie. But it seems she is a great actress all we have to do is sit and wait! ^^

Loved "bad love" but not completely ... thanks for the recaps! Sometimes i couldn't bare to watch some episodes so i skipped around and thanks to these recaps, i'm able to catch up. But there were so many unanswered questions .. such as why did Joann kill herself? What ever happened to In Jung's stomach pains? What did Suhwan die from? Who's gonna take care of that seafood resto while the newlywed are on their honeymoon? And where is their honeymoon? We may never know.
Who took a hold of Yong Gi's Father Company? O.O It wasn't the wife nor the daughter nor the Son nor the Son in Law.... HUmmm.... "Still thinking"
Hi Mel, Yong-gi's good friend Christian is still working at Daehan Construction. But the CEO post was conveniently handed to some unknown man. They just shelved the company to somebody capable so that Yong-gi can pursue his artistic dream of becoming a pop artist.

Thank God for this blog. I had to stop watching after ep13 cos it's way too draggy, but couldn't really let go without knowing the ending.
Thanks for the amusing recaps and discussion.. I've downloaded all episodes from the web and watched them through the past week (I know it's a bit late but I don't get TV channels showing the series here)..
Actually I�m a newbie to K-Dramas as I�ve watched only 2 series till now: Sad Love Story (not all episodes) and Bad Love.. and with every episode I become a bigger fan of KSW :D I guess my next project would be to search for Stairway to Heaven :)
Well I will add my comments as follows:
*I liked in Bad Love:
1. The great performance of KSW as Yong gi that I really felt for that tender-hearted character.
2. The very-quick-to-end love story between In jung and Suhwan. I don�t know if anyone else shares the same view but I felt they were really in love. The first episode had the liveliest scenes for In jung in my opinion.
3. I liked Suhwan as some of you guys and I really can�t blame him for the lousy script that didn�t give him much of opportunity to.. act! There were scenes were he absolutely said nothing! And in those I don�t think any facial expression would be enough to fill the story plot gaps.
4. The Samchun and Chansuk couple made me laugh many times :D
5. The soundtrack is absolutely AWESOME!! I just can�t get the tunes out of my mind although I don�t understand a word.
*I hated in Bad Love:
1. It's unbelievable how many 'miraculous' coincidences they used in the story!! really annoying.
2. As I reached the 'annoying' part.. well.. the great In Jung was really really a pain.. I first thought it was intended to show how she feels lifeless after what she faced in her life so she walked and talked like a robot. But after SOME episodes and in CERTAIN scenes this couldn�t be excused or forgiven. I can�t remember even one scene when Yong gi hugs her and she hugs back! She always hanged her arms down like a statue which is really mood-spoiling and if I couldn�t read the subtitles I�d thought she can�t stand the guy!
3. Of course the plot was lousy. A lot could have been done better. For instance I thought Suhwan would help the couple get together at least as attempt to correct his sin of ruining the girl�s life. And maybe after that she�d have other thoughts seeing the good side of him and that he still loves her.. Something like that (can you see me as a good story teller ;))
4. Related to the plot and script, her running away again and again was frustrating I agree. But the more killing step she took was calling the father and telling him all about her past! I couldn�t understand WHY would she ever do that?!! And I thought she really deserves Yong gi to leave her at that point. Grrrrr
Well.. I enjoyed many parts and I have the episodes to re-watch whenever I want (of course specific ones! ;))
I just hope there are real guys as the character of Yong gi and that one of them would fall for me one day :)

firstly, i would like to thank K-pop for having this site and giving episode by episode sypnosis..
I watch every episode of Bad Love up till ep 9, and becuase i read in other fourms that the ending was quite draggy, i forwarded to the last 2 episodes to watch..
I wanted to know what happen to Suhwan.. and i guess in the real drama, it was never specified...
I had wanted In Jung to end up with Suhwan, but when it became clear that the writers of the drama series was going to make him a bad person (just look at the non-existence dialogue he has whenever he met In Jung at the dock... cant even say anything).. i give up..
I dont know Yong Gi is popular, coz i havent seen his other series, but what drawn me to this drama was Suhwan character - KSS, the actor is darn handsome!!

You couldn't possibly know how big of a help this was for me! It's like being able to fast forward all the boring parts and get to the crux of things. I wish this was the case for all asian dramas! I started looking for episode guides after being sucked up into "you are my destiny" GEEEZUS! I mean that thing is rediculously long...but I'm so hooked I cant stop watching. Anyway I digress, thanks for the sum-up!
