Ha Jung-woo & Soo-ae are 2008 Premiere Rising Stars

Ha Jung-woo (Chaser) and Soo-ae (Sunny) were named Best Actor and Best Actress respectively at the 2008 Premiere Asia Rising Star Awards on Oct 4 in Pusan.

The annual event, which was held in conjunction with the 13th Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF), was organised by entertainment magazine Premiere.

Other winners of the night included Jung Kyung-ho (Sunny) and Jung Ryeo-won (Two Faces of My Girlfriend). The pair bagged the Best New Actor and Best New Actress trophy respectively.

Meanwhile, Seven Days director Won Shin-yeon walked away with the Best Director award.

Like previous years, winners were selected based on online votes, as well as influence, popularity and artistic merit. Surveys were even conducted among directors, producers, critics as well as journalists to find the Rising Stars.

However, I think more award categories were added to the ceremony this year since there were only reports on the Best Actor and Best Actress in the previous years.

The masters of ceremonies for the 2008 event were Jung Joon-ho and Eugene, while the Wonder Girls wow-ed the crowd in their rainbow-coloured costumes.
