This is important news for those in Malaysia who enjoy Orion brand Choco-Pie.
The Korea Muslim Federation in its weekly bulletin last month warned that Orion's Choco-Pie is non-halal. Orion admits the marshmallows in Choco-Pie contain gelatin obtained from pigs.
The haram food includes some Yoplait yoghurt products which includes gelatin - a pork ingredient. Manufacturer Binggrae said that the gelatin is extracted and processed from pig skin.

^^whats your problem? the entry has nothing to do with you. muslims dont demand for public announcements, they just appreciate people sharing the news since most of the items are in other languages that we Malaysians dont understand.
and whats with comparing with the Jewish anyway. Both are two diff religions and followings. I dont see Jewish being the largest community in Malaysia why must people bother to put public announcements for them.Muslims dont force other religions to eat what we eat. But didnt you know Halal is currently the largest Global Hub for the whole world? Almost 80% of the world demands for Halal food?
ps; Muslims dont just 'dont eat pork' they dont drink alcohol,Muslims dont eat foods containing alcohol, non slaughtered animals and etc. psst. at least I know a lot of Kosher and understands about them and dont go around bashing about what they eat or dont eat.

but its a total of at least 120 countries around the world demands for halal food. Which is around 60%-70% of the world demands for Halal food, and even towards the global market.
Even non Muslim countries like USA, Australia, etc establishes their own Halal Market.
And why is it a big deal to you here? You eat what ever you want to eat, other people dont even force you to eat or even buy or even bother about the existance of halal food. Go mind your own business. Or at least, leave it be.
and again, why does it bother you so much that Kpopped shared a little info regarding the non halal food here?

I think public announcement is very important. I mean chocopie is one of those foods where you would NEVER guess that has pig product. How would you know that Jewish people aren't complaining about similar things? I suppose you happen to personally know every member of the Jewish community. My father buys Chocopie all the time and he's Muslim...this is something he should know and should have the right to know. And for any vegetarians out there..they should be informed too. It's not just about religion. It's also about quality control and respecting your customers. Wouldn't you want to know exactly what's in the foods you eat?
